Trey Honeycutt

Coach Honeycutt is in his third year as the head coach for the Austin McCallum Knights. Coach Honeycutt has coached for seventeen years and is in his eleventh year as a head baseball coach. He has made stops at Houston Chavez and Lockhart High School as a head coach earning a total of 134 career wins. He was nominated to coach in the Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association High School All-Star game in 2017 and the Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association High School All-Star game in 2021 and 2023. Honeycutt led Lockhart to the playoffs (2021) ending a thirty-year playoff drought. The following year, he was able to reach the playoffs back-to-back seasons for the first time in fifty-four years. In his first year at McCallum, his team became undefeated district champs allowing no runs scored throughout their district season. They finished as an area round finalist in 2023 and a Bi-District finalist in 2024. Honeycutt was also selected as the district 24-5A Coach of the Year in 2023 and 2024. He is looking forward to continuing the winning baseball tradition at McCallum.
